Australian mezzo-soprano Emily Edmonds is currently a member of the Jette Parker Young Artists Programme at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, which she joined at the start of the 2015/16 Season. Her roles so far have included Aglaea/Atropos/Bacchus (Orpheus) at the Sam Wanamaker Playhouse, Shakespeare’s Globe, Alms Sister (Suor Angelica) and Käthchen (Werther) on the main stage. Emily was also one of the six cast members in the world premiere of Philip Venables’ new opera 4.48 Psychosis at the Lyric Hammersmith.
Emily Edmonds joins four-time Grammy Award-nominated Vivica Genaux and Helpmann Award-winning countertenor Carlo Vistoli, to sing the role of Semira in Pinchgut Opera's new production of Hasse's Artaserse.
Emily Edmonds returns to the Royal Opera House, to sing the role of Varvara in Richard Jones' new production of Janácek's Katya Kabanova, under the baton of Edward Gardner. This marks the second opera in ROH's Janácek cycle.
